The first thing I would do is to buy bomb-proof wheelset to handle the more abuse. The transition to combat Bombshells and Halo are awesome .... What are the Azonic Outlaws and Atomlab GI's. You can get each of them, the $ 225 - $ 350 (Atomlab) are the most expensive of the group.
I remove the control a little better, and might think that a better LX front derailleur cage as a medium to relatively cheaply in this way. If not pull mount a large number of paths, then consider a Single-Speed ... You will be able to save a lot of weight, get a bike in silence, and not worry about leaving the channel.
